A Record 582 Eyes Given Sight on Nias Island!

I am thrilled to return from another highly successful eye surgery camp on the island of Nias in Northern Sumatra, joined by board members Danny Carrigan and Hutton Brown. This year, we at Body & Soul Ministries, in collaboration with Caris Foundation International, are celebrating our 20th Anniversary of this initiative. We broke our previous record at the three-day camp we organize every Fall in Gunung Sitoli, with the four doctors performing 582 cataract operations. Additionally, we surpassed the 12,000 eyes milestone that have been given sight since the project's commencement. The people in these regions of Indonesia lack access to this procedure and are unable to afford it, leading to permanent blindness. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to provide these operations at no cost to the patients. I would also like to express my gratitude to our outstanding Indonesian team of doctors, nurses, and staff for their tireless dedication and commitment to this work over the past two decades.
