The first half of 2019 has been a wonderful success thanks to you! Our Indonesian Eye Surgery Camps in Northern Sumatra continue to give sight to hundreds every year and our involvement in building safe houses for those vulnerable for human trafficking in Southeast Asia is dramatically changing the lives of these young girls. The following report will be focusing on these two projects.

328 Grateful Indonesians Thankful for Sight

In late April your generosity supporting the work of Body & Soul Ministries Indonesia brought sight to 328 more eyes in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Marganda Marbun continues to work diligently throughout the year screening patients and scouting locations for upcoming surgical camps, and we look forward in 2020 to visiting new villages in North Sumatra.

Nepal Safe Houses Offering Hope & Love

The absolute epidemic of human trafficking around the world has grown at alarming rates over recent years. The International Labor Organization and Walk Free Foundation have estimated that some 40.3 million people are enslaved worldwide. Numbers like these are very difficult to comprehend. We are so pleased to be working closely with Save Asian Souls to rescue the children most in danger of falling prey to human traffickers. Body & Soul Ministries board members Greg Smith and Danny Carrigan were able to visit three of the nine safe houses in Nepal this April. This project, thanks to your generosity, is truly meeting the charge of James 1:27 to “visit orphans and widows in their affliction.”
